Why Semi-Private Training Is an Excellent Choice

At GFT, we believe everyone deserves to move well, feel strong, and train with purpose. That means having access to high-quality coaching, a structured plan, and the right level of support — no matter where you're starting from.

We offer both group Strength & Conditioning sessions and Semi-Private Training because each serves a valuable purpose.

If you are looking to build strength, improve movement quality, and train with a more tailored approach — semi-private might be the perfect fit.

It’s not just about smaller numbers. It’s about quality coaching, a clear plan, and training that meets you where you're at.

🧘‍♀️ We Start with Mobility — Because Movement Quality Comes First

Every semi-private session at GFT begins with a targeted, research-backed mobility warm-up designed to prime your body for strength training.

This isn’t a few quick stretches.

We prescribe mobility exercises to:

  • Improve joint range of motion

  • Activate key stabilising muscles

  • Enhance neuromuscular control

  • Reduce injury risk

  • Set you up for stronger, safer lifts

Studies show that mobility prep improves movement mechanics, enhances performance, and prepares the nervous system for heavy training. That’s why it’s a non-negotiable part of our coaching system.

When you move better, you train better — and that’s where progress begins.

💡 What Semi-Private Training Looks Like at GFT

Our semi-private training model is built around a structured 8-week strength program. This means you're not doing random workouts — you're following a progressive training block designed to build strength, stability, and confidence over time.

But here’s what makes it unique:

  • Everyone follows the same foundational program, built by our coaches with intention.

  • Every exercise is adapted depending on who’s in the room — experience, injuries, mobility, goals, and readiness.

So in one session, you might have:

  • A first-timer learning to hinge and squat safely

  • A returning client coming back from shoulder rehab

  • A regular chasing a bodyweight chin-up or triple-digit deadlift

And every single one of them is coached, supported, and progressing — at their level.

🧠 It’s All About the Coaching

What makes semi-private training powerful isn’t just the format — it’s the quality of coaching inside it.

✅ 1. Purpose-Driven Programming

Every training block is intentionally designed to help you get stronger while improving your movement and recovery. You’re not guessing. You’re following a structured, progressive plan — with mobility, strength, and movement balance baked in.

✅ 2. Real-Time Coaching That Adjusts to You

Our coaches don’t just tell you what to do — they teach, correct, and adapt based on how you move that day. With up to 6 people per session, we have time to actually coach — to help you learn new skills, fix your form, and build confidence under the bar.

✅ 3. Personalisation Without Isolation

You’re not training alone — you’re part of a small, supportive group. But you’re not forced into exercises that don’t suit your body either. You get customisation within structure — the sweet spot for consistent, injury-free progress.

✅ 4. Calm, Controlled, Strength-Focused Sessions

There are no burpees. No rushing. No chaos. Semi-private training is paced and focused — so you can lift with control, learn proper technique, and make real gains in strength and confidence.

⚖️ Strength & Conditioning vs. Semi-Private — There’s No Competition

We love our group Strength & Conditioning sessions — they bring intensity, energy, and community.

Semi-private just offers a different layer of support:

  • It’s slower-paced.

  • More strength focused.

Many of our members do both — enjoying the challenge of group sessions, and the tailored support of semi-private.

💬 Is Semi-Private Right for You?

This model is ideal for you if:

  • You’re new to lifting and want to learn proper form safely

  • You’ve been training for a while but feel like you’ve plateaued

  • You’re coming back from injury or have ongoing movement limitations

  • You want more feedback, structure, and a strength-focused plan

  • You’re serious about progressing — but want support to do it right

At GFT, you don’t just train. You’re coached. You’re supported. You’re progressed.

That’s the difference.
